The CAN-API is an application layer interface which works with all of ESD's CAN interfaces (PCI, PC104, USB etc), and all of the following operating systems:
Windows 9x / ME / NT / 2K / XP, RTX,
Linux, LynxOS, PowerMAX OS, Solaris, SGI-IRIX6.5, AIX,
VxWorks, QNX4, QNX6, RTOS-UH
The API simplifies your program's interface to the CAN driver. The CAN driver must also be installed and operating in the host system. In a Windows systems the CAN driver is a DLL file. In the case of Linux and other operating systems it is typically a Kernel mode driver.
For Windows systems the API includes libraries for MS Visual C/C++, Visual Basic, Borland C++ Builder and Delphi, and Labview and for any system running Python. |
